Preschoolers naturally are inquisitive and ask a lot of questions! By asking a lot of questions your child is trying to understand the world around them.
And being a scientist is all about asking questions! Set up easy science activities for preschoolers to help encourage their curiosity and peak their interest!
This STEAM activity combines Science with play to create an opportunity for children to explore and extend their knowledge.
STEAM represents the combination of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Through the process of experimenting and exploring your child is using creative and critical thinking skills. Scientists, mathematicians, engineers and artists all use the same critical thinking skills to find new and innovative solutions.
Materials: Plastic Container or Box, Pebbles (or another sensory filler), Magnetic Alphabet Letters and Non-Magnetic Alphabet letters, Large Magnet or Magnet Wand
Set up your sensory bin or table by filling in with small rocks and your alphabet letters.

Why did the magnet not pick up all the letters?
What tool could we use to rescue the non-magnetic letters?
